THE PLOT:

The Enterprise encounters a strange energy field, a field that cripples the ship and injuries two crew members. One is James's oldest friend Gary Mitchel.

The blast of energy altars his body and mind, his eyes have turned into a shimmering silver and he has obtained super ESP powers. Powers that worry Spock, for was studing the recording of an lost ship that also encounted this energy field, an encounter that destroyed her.

Now the debate, they limp to a nearby abandoned space station, the debate. Should they leave Gary there to spend the rest of his life or rish Gary going insane.

THE OPINION:

Okay, as everyone knows "WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE" was the second pilot, they resused allot of the props from the unaired pilot "THE CAGE". But they showed it third, what the hell were they thinking. Doing that throws a big ass monkeywrench in the realism. I liked the episode but it gets a penity for being out of place.
