CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER

THE PLOT:
While searching for the source of waves of time, Sulu is badly injured. Leonard gives him a small amount of a dangerous drug
which saves him. But a shock wave causes Leonard to inject himself with an overdose of the dangerous drug and the effect
is madness. Leonard escapes the Enterprise and hiding out on the planet. Kirk, Spock, Uhura and a hand full beam down to
look for Leonard and find the remains of a city with a living time device called the Guardian of Forever.
Leonard leaps into the Guardian and altars history to a point that there is no Federation and Enterprise. So Kirk and
Spock goes back in time to try to stop him from destroying the future. They end up in the late 1930s in the heart of the
depression where they meet Edith Keeler and Kirk is smitten by this kitten.
But after getting a crude triquarter together sees two possible futures and in order to get their future back on track
Edith Keeler must die in an auto accident.
THE OPINION:
I know how much everyone loves this episode. I find the climax kind of sad, the story works and the acting is superb, Joan
Collins is always great.
